Orrin David Olds was born on August 21, 1896, in Bishop, Inyo County, California. He was the son of Charles Luther Olds and Maria Ellan Evens and had nine siblings: Charles Henry (born 1891), William Allie (born 1892), Lorne Author (born 1894), Lillis Beatrice (born 1898), Walter O (born 1899), Theodore R., (1901), James John (born 1903), Lester Franklin (1904), and Evelyn Elenore (1907).
Orrin married Pearl Moore Seeley on July 16, 1924, in Saticoy, Ventura County, California. They were married for forty-four years and had five children: Jack Dale Olds (born 1925), Virginia Ann Olds (born 1930), Wanda Dee Olds (1933), David Charles Olds (1940) & Kathleen Rene Olds (born 1948).
Orrin died on May 29, 1969, in Glennville, Kern County, California. He was seveny-five years old. Orrin is buried in plot #130, at the Blue Mountain Cemetery, in Woody, Kern County, California. On his headstone, there is a short phrase that characterized the nature of Orrin, "A Good Man".
