David Sidney Johnson was born on April 13, 1879, in Saticoy, Ventura County, California. He was the son of Eliza Jane Moore (1855-1932) and Charles Pinkard Johnson (1835-1923). David had three siblings: Dell Washington Johnson (born 1873), Kitty Ethelena Johnson (born 1882) and Elsie Hannah Johnson (born 1890). David never married.
While working for the Kern County Road Department, Dave suffered internal injuries when a road grader, he was operating, overturned on a Greenhorn Mountain road. David was pronounced dead on arrival at the San Joaquin Hospital in Bakersfield on March 20, 1946.
David was a lifelong resident of California and had lived in Kern County for the past eighteen years. He was buried at the Blue Mountain Cemetery. David's memorial can be found by clicking on the following web site: Find-A-Grave
